The Gel-Excite is ASICS's most affordable daily training shoe, and the eleventh version is the one that has changed the most in years. The key is the midsole: it features AMPLIFOAM PLUS and raises the stack height to 38.2 mm at the heel, very close to the 40 mm limit set by competition regulations. The toe box also grows by 4 mm, from 23.4 to 27.4 mm. The result is a significantly softer ride than its predecessor, here in deep blue with white.
Viewed from the side, the increase in height compared with previous versions is noticeable: more foam, more cushioning, and a smoother transition. The upper is made of breathable mesh with lightweight reinforcements, without rigid structures. In Midnight with white, the deep blue covers the mesh while the white defines the midsole, visually highlighting its greater volume.
