The Adistar Control 5 was launched in 2008, but its lineage began much earlier: the Adistar series was established in 1976 and returned to the forefront in the early 2000s, divided into three branches with different purposes: Cushion for soft landings, Ride for daily miles, and Control for those who needed structure. The Control 5 arrived when adidas had already fine-tuned that formula, and since 2025 the brand has been bringing it back to its catalog.
The original construction brought together the best of adidas's technical arsenal at the time: a Formotion unit in the heel to stabilize landings, a torsion bar in the midfoot to drive the transition, adiPRENE+ cushioning in the forefoot, and a hard-wearing adiWEAR outsole. This colorway delivers it in warm tones: a Cream White base, white reinforcements, and Maroon burgundy highlighting the details and the three stripes.
